Where does the risk sit if something goes wrong?
Government work runs in one approved system that IT controls from day one. We never use your content to train models.
Free and Pro are personal accounts with no organization control. Team and Enterprise add admin controls, but IT has to set them up and enforce them.
Who can see and audit what staff do with it?
The audit trail shows who did what. Admins see it from the dashboard on every plan.
Audit logs only on Enterprise. Anthropic’s Compliance API is not offered to public sector organizations.

Questions buyers ask us.
Our staff prefer Claude. Why switch?
Many staff do, and Claude writes well. The better test is which workload needs an audit trail behind it: a FOIA response, a council packet, a policy answer someone might have to defend later. Run one of those through both, and check the trail and whether the answer fits your government.
Doesn’t Claude Enterprise already have security controls?
Yes. Enterprise includes single sign-on, SCIM, role-based access, audit logs, and custom data retention. Those are real controls. Retention schedules, exemption logic, and packet workflows still aren’t part of it, so someone at your organization has to design them and keep them current. We never use your content to train models, with Data Shield on or off. GovAI is SOC 2 Type II compliant and follows the NIST AI Risk Management Framework. Your IT lead can request the SOC 2 report on our Trust Center.
What about Claude for Government?
Claude for Government supports FedRAMP High, and Anthropic’s $1 GSA OneGov offer covers federal executive, legislative, and judicial agencies. Cities and counties buy Claude Enterprise or the API instead.
Our state offers Claude at a discount. Does that change things?
It lowers the seat price. California’s 2026 agreement gives the state’s cities and counties Claude at half price, with training. It’s still priced per seat, and it’s still a general tool. The FOIA, packet, and permit workflows are still yours to build and maintain.
Can’t we build our own FOIA workflow with Claude Skills?
You can. Claude supports custom Skills, and a capable staff member can write one. The work is what comes after: testing it against real requests, updating it when exemptions, forms, or staff change, and keeping an audit trail around it. GovAI builds, runs, and maintains that Agent for you.
How long before staff can use this?
Staff can start on day one. Ready-made skills for government and the guardrails are already set up. We pick the first job with you, usually the one piling up most, and build and run that Agent. Then our local government experts coach each department as its work goes live.
Does GovAI replace Microsoft Copilot too?
No. Copilot stays for work inside Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. GovAI runs the governed work, secure chat, and Agents on named jobs like packets, records, and permits. Most organizations run both.
